Blueberries

Native to North America, blueberries are becoming more commonly grown in Europe - you may have foraged some of their smaller, darker relative, the bilberry, yourself. In late summer they are available from growers in Dorset but otherwise come from Spain or Chile. Best loved as a precious topping for anything from Bircher muesli to waffles, we also often freeze and blitz them up in smoothies or plop them into a muffin batter. How about using your punnet to create a take on bread and butter pudding with leftover pastries?
