Organic Galia Melon
Galia melons were developed in Israel and named after the melon breeder’s daughter. After a chilled slice of one on a hot day you’ll appreciate the honour that was bestowed on her!
Pale yellow on the outside and covered with a net-like raised pattern (like a Cantaloupe), inside they are white to green (like a Honeydew or Canary melon) and a far cry from the sad chunks that usually get left in overpriced containers of pre-prepared fruit salad.
Grown in Spain, they are only available in the summer months so look out for them when we publish next week's menu on a Friday. They’re not solely an accompaniment to cured meat and you don’t need a melon baller either! Try using them to make a heat-beating granita.
