Nectarines

Sometimes flat, sometimes round, sometimes white, sometimes orange, always, as their name suggests, nectar-sweet and prone to provoking expletives to describe how good they are. If you can resist them for long enough, try your hand at a buckwheat galette or grill and add to salads with a balsamic dressing.
