Barcombe Flat Peaches

Our peaches are the flat variety sometimes called ‘doughnut’ - perhaps in a bid by some Five-A-Day touting marketing department to make them seem as enticing as baked goods. Once you’ve had one of ours though we do think you’d be hard pushed to shun another in favour of anything but the most gourmet deep-fried treat. They are less fuzzy than the round kind and their pale flesh is unbelievably sweet and almost floral. Speaking of flowers, their blossom always lifts our spirits in Spring and though traditional Japanese Hanami (“flower viewing") refers to enjoying the beauty of cherry or plum, our events space becomes a place to warrant its own custom. We’ll try and time an open weekend to coincide!
