Organic Cantaloupe Melon
Cantaloupe gets its name from the Italian town Cantalupa but as well as referring to European 'true' Cantaloupes (which have ribbed, not netted skins) now also includes North America's Muskmelon, Australia's Rock melon and South Africa's Spanspek. As you can see from the fruits depicted, which are both ribbed and netted, today many delicious cultivars exist so we can get the best attributes of different types all in one!
We don't currently grow any of them at Barcombe (although they are closely related to the squash and cucumbers that do so well here on Sussex soil) but our amazing Spanish producers work hard to capture that Mediterranean heat so you're ensured maximum flavour and sweetness in each smiley-slice.
