Cobnuts from Oakwood Farm
Cobnuts are a cultivated variety of hazelnut introduced in the 19th century in Kent, they are delicious eaten young and green, somewhat like fresh coconut. We like to enjoy them as part of a cheese course but are looking forward to trying some of these out in place of pine nuts in pesto as well as in a pudding recipe too! Keep yours stored in the fridge to stop them drying out, although if you don't they will mature to a golden colour and develop flavour and sweetness.
